We’re so excited to welcome new instructor, JQ Enriquez to Honest! JQ grew up playing soccer in an Olympic development program and went on to play Division I Soccer and Golf in college. After experiencing a career-ending injury, JQ refocused to help others succeed with their individual fitness goals – earning a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training & Exercise Physiology. JQ worked for the American Red Cross & Pasadena Health Department doing disaster relief & bioterrorism work, which led to earning a Masters of Nursing at UCLA.
How long have you lived in PDX? What is your favorite part of living in Portland, OR?
6 years in Northeast Portland – there are so many things I love about Portland but the coffee is amazing & the goats down the street from me are pretty cool too.
What is your favorite way to workout/train/move?
I am a workout fanatic so I like to try everything. My favorite workout right now is anything with kettlebells and something good to eat afterwards.
Why is working out so important to you?
It’s like breathing for me. It been who I am since I could remember. I have been a competitive athlete my whole life.
What 1 food and 1 beverage could you not live without?
Coffee & Peanut Butter
What is your current self-care routine, and why is it important to you?
Sleep, acupuncture, post workout nutrition, and friends & family nights. All these things make me happy & create balance in my life.
What is your biggest outlet for your creative expression?
I love photography!
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I have a secret obsession with playing pinball & reading comic books.
