How long have you lived in PDX? What is your favorite part of living in Portland, OR?
My whole life, all 40 years!
My favorite part is the proximity to the coast and the mountain. I don’t ski or snowboard but love hiking and camping and I am obsessed with the Oregon Coast!
What is your favorite way to workout/train/move?
I love lifting weights. Moving a barbell makes me feel incredibly strong and empowered. I love how technical it is, and progressing over time is fun to experience. But I couldn’t handle life’s challenges if it weren’t for running. It’s what grounds me. I love the freedom it provides, being outdoors, breathing the fresh air and giving myself the space to process my emotions.
Why is working out so important to you?
I would be a total head case if it weren’t for physical activity. It keeps me believing in myself and what I’m capable of mentally and physically. And it makes me a much more pleasant person to be around.
What 1 food and 1 beverage could you not live without?
Hmm, IPA or margaritas? Or wine? ;). That’s a tough one. But seriously, water! Duh! I mean I could not live without water. As far as food goes, I’m a big meat n veggies girl. I don’t think I could without either.
What is your current self-care routine, and why is it important to you?
Hanging out with my girlfriends. It’s just easy, and fun and comforting. We’ve known each other almost our whole lives. We are very lucky to have each other!
What is your biggest outlet for your creative expression?
Designing workouts! Truly, it’s my favorite past time, hobby and creative outlet.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
That I’m an introvert. I LOVE people. But I hate small talk, I struggle with social anxiety and absolutely need time alone to recharge.
