If you haven’t met our long time client Tahni, it’s time. Tahni is one of the most hardworking, badass, positive and fun people I had ever had the pleasure knowing. I could not have been more excited when she approached me about teaching indoor cycling. Tahni is an avid cyclist, her experience on the bike will bring a fun, real feel to our indoor cycling classes @ Honest!
Look forward to seeing Tahni on the Honest schedule toward the end of Aug! YAY!
Here is more about Tahni…
How long have you lived in PDX? What is your favorite part of living in Portland, OR?
I am a native to PDX. Legacy Emanuel hospital makes good product – my grandmother, my mother, myself and my children were all born there. As a child, I walked across the Freemont bridge before it was open to cars. Yes, I do believe, this gives me full permission to complain about traffic.
What made you want to become a spin instructor?
I fall and get lost when I ride outside. Ok, seriously now – I adore the community at Honest and hope I can comfortably nudge those who want to move into outdoor riding but also provide a fun indoor sweat for those looking to spin at the studio.
What is fav way to workout/train/move?
Variety is key for me – Within a given month I will ski, bike, play racquetball, circuit train, trail run, yoga, swim laps, etc. I am comfortable being “mid pack” on most everything but I want to train so I am ready for that last minute invite to climb St. Helens, be a substitute on a relay team, etc.
Why is working out so important to you?
I am not good at moderation (my first race was a marathon vs. a 5k). The workouts at Honest help me address health in a holistic manner with just the right mix of self-care and butt kicking to keep me challenged and protect my body for future use. I also work from home so being at Honest is my time to escape my kids (did I say kids, I meant work, really).
What 1 food and 1 beverage could you not live without?
Right now? Popcorn with parmesan cheese and also having a Coors light after a long hot ride.
What is your current self-care routine, and why is it important to you?
I love me an Epsom salt bath, a good book and a bed time of 9:20pm.
What is your biggest outlet for your creative expression?
Thinking differently with my business acumen. Specifically, translating my experience in high tech to benefit non-profits.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
1) My first paid job was dressing up as Miss Piggy for the Milwaukie Oregon Festival Daze parade.
2) Each workout I look at all of you and I am inspired
