This week we are taking a moment to get to know everyone’s favorite trainer Paisley Meekin! She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, specializing in small group personal training and corrective exercise. She’s TRX Group certified and has a BA in Dietetics. She’s also a nutrition and lifestyle coach with a certification by CHEK institute.
Paisley is the owner of Honest Small Group Training. She is the woman behind it all and the pulse that keeps it alive. She has changed so many lives and she’s one of the most humble, down to earth people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Plus she looks like a mermaid.

What made you want to become a trainer?
I’ve always loved nutrition and fitness from a very young age. My mom was a total health nut growing up so I think it rubbed off 🙂 She literally ran a co-op out of our house! Organic food and knowing where your food came from was part of my upbringing. We had horses, sheep, goats (which we milked!), chickens/turkeys for our eggs and meat. I was originally planning on going to school to become a dietitian but was not jiving with the way they taught it. It was very “according to the food guide pyramid” and not personable or fun. Dietitians also mostly work in hospitals and after shadowing some people, it was not going to be the right environment for me. I narrowed my choices down to becoming a personal trainer or a massage therapist and since becoming a personal trainer at that time was easier and cheaper, I went with that. It unknowing became my dream job!
What is your training philosophy?
I like to think of my philosophy as fitness for normal people. Yes, I like hard workouts and I like pushing people, but I just like approachable fitness. I don’t think everyone has to be a crazy fitness freak. I just want to help people move better, feel less pain, have a better outlook on life, feel strong, feel powerful, be confident, smile and laugh more.. and fitness is a GREAT way to do this. Oh and I get to wear lycra all day every day 🙂
What are your favorite fitness activites?
I love to race bikes!

I am obsessed with pitbulls 🙂
