How long have you been working out at Honest? How did you get started?
I’ve been working out at Honest for a little over a year and a half. I realized that I was sitting at a desk most of the day and I had body aches and pains for no obvious reason. I knew I had to start moving more.
Do you have any advice for someone who is new at Honest? Or thinking about a membership?
Do it! I had never thought of myself as strong or athletic. And being shy, gyms intimidated me. But Honest has proven me wrong! I really enjoy exercise now, and also love to challenge myself. There is no reason to feel self-conscious or insecure at Honest, the trainers help bring out the best in you!
What is your favorite class at Honest or type of work-out?
Love a METCON workout!
How long have you lived in Portland? Where else have you lived?
I’ve been in Portland about 15 years. I grew up on the southern Oregon coast and made my way to Portland after college.
What is your self-care routine?
I’m really working at eating healthy foods. It is a challenge for me – I love all of the garbage foods, so I have to be very conscious about my food choices. My body and mind feel better for it!
What’s your favorite kind of music for working out?
Hip hop is probably my favorite for a workout.
Is there a food & drink that you couldn’t live without?
Coffee! Good, black coffee. I love the caffeine, of course, but I also love the ritual of drinking it every morning.
What is your idea of the perfect day-off?
Unplugging – no email, no texts, no IM’s. And then my day could vary from reading a good book to going on a long hike with friends.
